This workshop has been organised as part of the US National Science Foundation (NSF-PIRE) project 'Modelling of Flood Hazards and Geomorphic Impacts of Levee Breach and Dam Failure', coordinated by Professors Hanif Chaudhry and Jasim Imran from the University of South Carolina.

Call for presentations

Delegates are invited to make an oral presentation at the workshop. Should you wish to make a presentation, please complete the attendance form below and provide the title of your presentation before sending it back to us.

The workshop will commence on Wednesday 15 February with a welcome, and registration of workshop participants will take place. Registered attendees will then have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour through our Fluid Mechanics Laboratory.

February is mid-summer in Auckland, which is typically the best time to visit New Zealand. We encourage you to consider extending your time here to enjoy our beautiful city and country. Visitors to Auckland and New Zealand typically come with high expectations and are seldom disappointed.

Registration and fees

The workshop will be similar to the previous workshops held as a part of this PIRE programme. Hence, there will be no registration fee for attendees from the member institutions of the PIRE project. For participants outside the PIRE project, there is a registration fee, which will be published on this site when confirmed. Besides administrative costs, the fee will cover lunches, coffee breaks, the banquet and the technical visit.

For those attending the conference, information on the requirements for entry to New Zealand, transport from the airport and accommmodation have been provided for your convenience. More....
